We are thrilled to be a part of this year's Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sunday, Nov. 9, at UC Irvine. And we're hoping that you'll join us as we walk together to raise funds to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Type 1 diabetes is a costly, chronic disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, with little or no warning. It makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. It can't be prevented, but a cure is within sight. That's where you can help.
We know firsthand that diabetes is a lot for a child (and his or her family) to handle and that life becomes a constant balancing act of medication, food and exercise. If the balance is thrown off, the consequences can be catastrophic.
You can help find a cure! Any amount of donation to JDRF is appreciated; and more than 85 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to fund research.
Diabetes accounts for more than $174 billion of health care costs annually in the U.S. One way or another, the disease affects each of us.
