Lido Theater Receives 2026 Preservation Award

The historic Lido Theater in Newport Beach has been honored with a 2026 Preservation Award from the Art Deco Society of California following its extensive multi-million-dollar restoration. The theater was one of only two restored buildings in California to receive the prestigious recognition this year.The annual Art Deco Preservation Awards celebrate efforts to preserve California’s Art Deco architecture, art and culture. Segerstrom Center for the Arts is bringing back its popular summer programming on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza with free Tuesday Night Dance classes through August and Summer Sounds outdoor concerts starting June 12.The all-ages dance series runs through August and features styles including Latin rhythms, K-Pop, Broadway, line dancing, Bollywood, hula and hip hop, all led by local instructors.
