Fresh from the Toronto International Film Festival, where it generated huge buzz and won the People’s Choice Award in the Midnight Madness category, WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story will screen at 7 p.m. at Edwards Big Newport.

Santa Barbara Vintners Festival Returns for 38th Year

One of California’s most highly anticipated events, the Santa Barbara Vintners Festival, returns for its 38th year on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. The first wine festival ever held in Santa Barbara County, the Vintners Festival will take place at the Old Mission Santa Inés in Solvang, featuring more than 50 wineries and gourmet offerings from over 20 regional chefs, restaurants, and food producers.

The Orange County Museum of Art’s New Home Opens Oct. 8

The inaugural programming at the Orange County Museum of Art’s new home located on the Segerstrom Center for the Arts will include the highly anticipated return of the California Biennial, a diverse array of exhibitions, including a survey of artist Fred Eversley, a special project about landscape architect Peter Walker, a monumental outdoor sculpture by Sanford Biggers, and an exhibition drawn from OCMA’s expansive collection that marks the museum’s 60th anniversary and pays homage to the women who founded the museum.
