Tastemakers of Orange County Returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts

The Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA) will host the return of its Tastemakers of Orange County on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. The culinary celebration will showcase the rich and diverse flavors of Asian and Pacific Islander cuisine, created by more than two dozen of Orange County’s top chefs. Guests will enjoy exclusive, all-you-can-eat dishes in a lively outdoor setting, while supporting OCAPICA programs in mental health, youth development, housing assistance, policy education, and anti-Asian racism initiatives.

As African elephants face increasing threats to their survival, Laguna Beach Philanthropist Oracle Maureen is presenting the inaugural “18 For The Elephants” charity golf tournament, sponsored by Angels Among Us Foundation and benefitting the charity Over and Above Africa. Set for April 10, 2025, at Pelican Hill Golf Club, the event aims to rally Southern California in support of critical conservation efforts for these endangered animals. Special Connection to Orange County Kerry David, founder of Over and Above Africa, is also the producer of "Breaking Their Silence: Women on the Frontline of the Poaching War," which held its World Premiere at the 2019 Newport Beach Film Festival. This local connection brings additional significance to our event.

Over 110 O.C. Restaurants Unite for Wildfire Relief Fundraiser – Tuesday, Jan. 14

On Tuesday, January 14, over 110 restaurants across Orange County will donate 20% of the day’s sales to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank in support of wildfire victims. This effort, organized by OC Restaurants Give, brings together a coalition of local restaurants and cafes in a united mission to aid those affected by devastating wildfires in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Diners are encouraged to visit participating restaurants throughout the day to contribute.
