Ramen Shack, NYC’s cult-favorite ramen concept from Japanese-American chef Keizo Shimamoto, has opened. Widely regarded as one of the best ramen chefs in the U.S., Shimamoto uses fresh craft ramen noodles that he developed himself and the menu will feature several of the greatest hits from his longtime NYC ramenya, along with the eventual return of a certain infamous Ramen Burger.
Longtime fans of Angelina’s Pizzeria Napoletana in Irvine can look forward to Bottega Angelina, from the same owners, set to open late October/early November at Ocean Ranch Village in Laguna Niguel. Bottega Angelina will be a new concept, part Italian market, restaurant, and bar spanning 7,000 square feet all under one roof on a hill in Laguna Niguel. The exterior has an old-world feel with lavender plants, potted citrus, cypress, and olive trees, surrounded by ocean views.
Paradise Dynasty, the xiao long bao specialist from Singapore, makes its foray into the U.S. with its first American outpost, at South Coast Plaza. The stylish and modernly-appointed 5,200-square foot restaurant — which anchors the new dining collective called Collage inside Bloomingdale’s — officially marks Paradise Group’s global expansion, with 45 Paradise Dynasty locations and more than 100 restaurants spanning multiple concepts across Asia.
Mercado Modern has unveiled a new fall cocktail program highlighting its extensive list of specialty Mexican spirits, including mezcal, tequila, whiskey, corn liqueurs, and select pisco. The drinks are brought to life with authentic Mexican ingredients like chamoy, jamaica, maracuya, tamarind, and purple corn.
