26th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival Announces 2025 Lineup

The Newport Beach Film Festival will return October 16–23 for its 26th year, showcasing more than 100 feature films and 250 shorts from 32 countries. The festival opens October 16 with Richard Linklater’s Blue Moon, starring Ethan Hawke, Margaret Qualley, Bobby Cannavale and Andrew Scott. It closes October 23 with Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, starring Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac and Christoph Waltz.

Segerstrom Center Welcomes Yearlong Karon Davis Installation

THE NOTEBOOK Musical Set for Segerstrom Hall in 2026

Producers Kevin McCollum and Kurt Deutsch, along with Segerstrom Center for the Arts, have announced that THE NOTEBOOK, a new musical based on the best-selling novel that inspired the iconic film, will play Segerstrom Hall from Jan. 27 to Feb. 8, 2026. The production is part of the 2025-26 Broadway Season and brings the beloved love story to Costa Mesa audiences.

Step inside California Kinship at Langson IMCA

On view through Aug. 30, California Kinship: Painting Homelife in the Golden State Before 1940 invites guests into the private worlds of early 20th-century Californians. Curated by Langson IMCA Assistant Curator Michaëla Mohrmann, Ph.D., the exhibition features portraits and scenes of everyday life—capturing moments of intimacy, care, and connection at home. Many of the works on view are drawn from the museum’s Buck Collection.

Hilbert Museum and Pageant of the Masters Partner for 2025 Celebration of California Art

The Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University and the Festival of Arts’ Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach are joining forces in a 2025 collaboration that highlights California’s rich artistic legacy. The partnership honors the influence and scope of California art and celebrates the institutions that preserve and promote it. The initiative includes specially priced Pageant tickets for Hilbert Museum followers, a joint panel discussion on June 4, a dedicated “Hilbert Night” at the Pageant on July 9, and coordinated social media and PR campaigns showcasing both organizations.
