5. MAC Cosmetics Brow Set ($13.50) in Beguile at Macy's at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. 949.640.8333: I was leery of this product at first, but a MAC makeup artist insisted that I try it, and it's just incredible. It makes brows look perfect and it never flakes.

6. Manolo Blahnik's Buckled Mary Jane ($775) at Neiman Marcus at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. 949.721.2000: I'm dreaming of these burgundy patent leather shoes. They're so beautiful. They're top on my wish list!

7. Pureology's Nanowax ($22) at Images Salon at 2515 East Coast Highway in Corona Del Mar. 949.675.5531: My favorite hairstylist, Ron Perez at Images Salon, suggested that I try Nanowax. It keeps unsightly fly-away hairs tamed. 100% vegan and it smells great.

8. "Power Sleep" by Dr. James B. Maas. Maas, a pioneer of sleep research at Cornell University, wrote this book that helps improve sleep disorders in a drug-free program. His tips can help you become more alert and productive. ($13.95): I was lucky enough to attend Dr. James Maas seminar on "Power Sleep" at the Wyndham Hotel in Costa Mesa. This book is changing my life!
