Art at The District

With the opening of The District Art Gallery at The District at Tustin Legacy, art enthusiasts, decorators, and home owners have an exciting new resource for finding original paintings, as well as a space for artists and photographers to show their works. Local artist and The District Art Gallery owner, Lisa Ricondo, is bringing this unique gallery to the Tustin area while curating a group of local artists to show in a six-month exhibition highlighting an array of subjects from abstract expressionists to still life. Their diverse talents and styles range from traditional brushwork to drip and poured medium.

Join the grand opening with complimentary food and beverages at the gallery from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 17. And stop by "Meet the Artists" events each Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. catered by select District restaurants. Shoppers and onlookers can walk in, view the artwork, purchase paintings and speak with the artists. 

 
Ricondo recently wrapped up her successful solo exhibition at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Now she's ready to embark on a new chapter of her art career as a curator and gallery owner, showcasing art in her own community. On display are some of her recent works made while at The Cosmopolitan. Lisa will also be painting live in the gallery daily utilizing the space as a studio and an interactive exhibition.
 
The District Art Gallery will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays through Sundays 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. The artist is also available by appointment at 424.645.4161. 
 
The District Art Gallery is located at 2477 Park Avenue in Tustin (in The District Promenade). 
 
Best in Live Bands

bands Tonight listen to the best in band performances at the Constellation Room in Santa Ana for Night #7 of the 2012 OC Music Awards Showcase Series. The Best Live Band show starts with Ethan Hulse performing at 8 p.m.; Robert Jon & the Wreck at 8:45 p.m.; Italian Japanese at 9:30 p.m.; The Devious Means at 10:15 p.m., and Mphase (pictured above) at 11 p.m. Five Showcase Series finalists in each live category will move on to the Showcase Series Finals, with the Best Live Acoustic Finals taking place on Wed., Feb. 22 at the Coach House and Best Live Band Finals on Friday, Feb. 24 at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The Constellation Room is at 3503 South Harbor Blvd. in Santa Ana.

 

LA Beer in OC!

beerBeer enthusiasts can help celebrate LA based Golden Road Brewing expansion to OC at Haven Gastropub in Orange on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Join Golden Road Brewing co-founder Meg Gill and Bryant Goulding sharing the story of the new beer company brewed and canned in Los Angeles from 6 to 9 p.m. Haven Gastropub will be serving Golden Road Hefeweizen and Point the Way IPA, as well as two limited edition Golden Road brews, the Get Up Offa That Brown (an English-style brown ale) and Either Side of the Hill (a pale ale with heavy hops), on tap. Arrive early and you’ll receive receive Golden Road glassware.
