Meet Pop Pie Co.
San Diego’s beloved Pop Pie Co. expanded to Orange County with a new pie shop in Costa Mesa. The all-day eatery and coffee bar serves its signature sweet and savory pies, coffee and ice cream staples.
Pop Pie Co. co-owners Steven Torres and Executive Chef Gan Suebsarakham bring butter-crusted new life to the space formerly occupied by Aussie-style bakery Pie-Not with their eatery’s signature individual-sized pies that put modern spins on classics—think Green Hog and Cheese, vegan favorite Roasted Veggies and Yellow Curry, and, of course, traditional offerings including Chicken Pot Pie, Aussie Meat Pie and Steak & Ale.
On the sweet side, favorites like Coconut Cream Pie and Key Lime Pie are available as slices or whole 9” pies, as well as traditional hand pies including Guava Cream Cheese and Lemon Curd & Mixed Berry.
The shop also has a full-service coffee bar, featuring beans from Portland’s Heart Coffee Roasters, and select small-batch ice cream flavors from Pop Pie Co.’s sister scoop shop, Stella Jean’s, will be available in the form of PiesCream, a decadent menu item starring both pie and ice cream.
Chef Gan Suebsarakham’s signature all-butter crust stars in a rotating menu of sweet and savory pies made in-house daily in a variety of sizes and formats, from mini pies to hand pies to classic pies. The globally inspired menu incorporates flavors from Australia, Europe, and Asia into specialty pies, with many inspired by Chef Gan’s Thai heritage.
Locally owned and open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, Pop Pie Co. is a neighborhood hangout, featuring communal seating and a specialty coffee bar.
