‘Endless Summer’ Artist in OC!
Meet the man behind the iconic “Endless Summer” poster, as well as an impressive works of art including more than 300 album covers such as the Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour,” and the Rolling Stones’ “Exile on Main Street,” as well as concert posters for Jimi Hendrix and Cream.
Last year, John Van Hamersveld celebrated his 50-year anniversary as an artist, and Saturday he’ll will be signing copies of his new book “My Art, My Life” from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Surfing Heritage Museum at South Coast Plaza. It’s a recount of his interesting life with his iconic colorful works from the sixties that inspired pop and counterculture in California.
Currently Van Hamersveld is working from his Coolhous studio in Santa Monica, and you can view his online museum of art here. His repertoire of art includes drawings, illustrations, trademarks, sketches, paintings, photography, and signage.
