Flamenco Legend: Farruquito at Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall
Farruquito Flamenco is coming to Segerstrom Center of the Arts on Wednesday, November 9 at 8 p.m., in Segerstrom Hall. Farruquito’s roots in flamenco dance have taken him all over the world, immersing audiences in his gift as the “greatest Flamenco dancer of this new century.” (New York Times) As the principal inheritor of the greatest Gypsy flamenco bloodlines, Farruquito has made it his life’s mission to share the purest form of flamenco on stages worldwide while further broadening his influence by collaborating with the most paramount film directors, conductors, and artists of our time.
Farruquito (Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya), son of flamenco singer Juan Fernández Flores “El Moreno” and dancer Rosario Montoya Manzano “La Farruca”, and the eldest of 3 siblings including Manuel Fernández Montoya “El Carpeta” and Alegría Fernández Montoya, was immersed in the purest form of flamenco founded by his grandfather, “El Farruco”, one of the most incredible dancers in the history of flamenco.
