Broken Yolk Cafe Opens in Irvine with Free Pancakes for First 100 Customers

August 08, 2024

Southern California's beloved breakfast spot, Broken Yolk Cafe, is set to open its newest location on Barranca Parkway in Irvine at the Crossroads Shopping Center on Tuesday, August 13. On opening day, the first 100 customers will win a year of free pancakes.

Broken Yolk Cafe was one of the first full-service restaurants to thrive in the breakfast and lunch scene. The restaurant has redefined brunch from a special occasion meal to an everyday delight, pioneering a segment that continues to grow in popularity.

Leading the new Irvine location is experienced local restaurateur and Broken Yolk Cafe franchisee Mike DiNorscia. DiNorscia is also the founder and CEO of Grain & Grit Collective, which operates four other Broken Yolk Cafes in the City of Orange, Costa Mesa, Buena Park, and Phoenix, as well as several popular restaurants in San Diego, including two locations of Carnitas’ Snack Shack, the Little Italy Food Hall, Not Not Tacos, Basta by Sam the Cooking Guy, CooCoo’s Nest, and Samburgers.

The Irvine Broken Yolk Cafe will feature an extensive house-made breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu, plus exclusive mimosa flights, Bloody Marys, and other specialty items. Breakfast favorites include six signature benedict options, omelets, skillets, and griddle favorites like waffles, pancakes, and French toast, including a French toast sampler. For lunch, the menu includes sandwiches, wraps, and burgers. Those into a boozy brunch should not miss the exclusive Megamosa®, a mix of Wycliff champagne topped with fresh orange juice served in a 12-ounce Pilsner.

The expansive space boasts 4,700 square feet of indoor dining and a well-appointed 1,400-square-foot patio. It is designed to be comfortable and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere. Broken Yolk Cafe is more than just a dining space; it is a gathering spot for friends, families, and communities, where conversations flow and memories are made, from casual weekday breakfasts to leisurely weekend brunches.

With a focus on service and hospitality, DiNorscia has spent his career dedicated to the restaurant industry with a values-focused approach, which extends into his personal life as a mentor to young athletes and an active father of three boys. Broken Yolk Cafe is an extension of those values and an opportunity to serve the local community.
