At the Newport Beach Film Festival, Laguna Beach-based production company Curtis Birch, Inc. and San Clemente, non-profit, Surfing Heritage and Culture Center present the World Premiere of the feature documentary Birth of The Endless Summer: Discovery of Cape St. Francis on Tuesday, October 26 at 5 p.m. at the New Port Theater in Corona del Mar, and Thursday, October 28 at 5:30 p.m. at THE LOT. The film will screen in the Festival’s Action Sports Film Series. Annual Free Kids’ Fishing Derby Returns to Mile Square Regional Park

The much-anticipated annual Kids’ Fishing Derby at the North Lake at Mile Square Regional Park returns on Saturday, Oct. 16. Register for the free event from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and enjoy the derby from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.The North Lake will be stocked with more than 1,000 pounds of catfish for kids ages 6 to 15 to try and catch.
