Greer’s OC Weekend: See the Sea!

Celebrate the 25th anniversary and visionary plans for ExplorOcean/Newport Harbor Nautical Museum on Saturday from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The Silver Anniversary Waterfront Celebration promises to be an exciting evening of unveiling ExplorOcean, a state-of-the-art interactive amusement and educational facility with a "4D" sensory theater and more, as well as a fashion show on the docks featuring designs by Faconnable South Coast Plaza, dancing, bonfire-side food and drinks, auction and after party from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m.

The Newport Harbor Nautical Museum is at 600 East Bay Ave. in Newport Beach.

Bite Me!

Blackmarket Bakery The place to be Saturday is at one of our favorite bakeries in Orange County, Blackmarket Bakery in Irvine, which is celebrating its fall open house, cutely titled "Bite Me," from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The day is filled with live entertainment, shopping, food trucks and tasty sweets. Plus, Blackmarket Bakery will unveil its super delicious fall treats like soft gingerbread shortbread cookies shaped like skeletons, and an array of pumpkin desserts like honey pumpkin tarts, pumpkin cranberry scones, and pumpkin spice bread puddings. 

Get a jump on your holiday shopping at pop-up shops such as Joy by Carle, Switch Room, and LookCoy;  listen to a live acoustic performance by Karma the Mirror and other bands; eat food provided by the Lime Truck; check out cake demos; and win raffle prizes.

Guests can purchase $20 gift certificates for only $10 to use at Blackmarket Bakery.

California Closets is hosting an open house complete with food, drinks, raffles and the chance to win tickets to the Anaheim Bolts, OC's newest indoor soccer team. The closet experts have been the go-to source for help with interior design and organization in OC for the past 30 years.

31 Bits, a favorite of Greer's OC, will also be on hand with their recycled paper jewelry made by women living in Northern Uganda. The socially-minded Costa Mesa-based business provides an income for women who might not have the same opportunities.
