LES BALLETS DE MONTE-CARLO: CHORE

January 29, 2016

Dance enthusiasts can attend the extraordinary dancing of the acclaimed Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo from February 12 – 13 at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The production is an American premiere of Jean-Christophe Maillot’s Choré, featuring music by Danny Elfman and John Cage.

Choré is in homage to American musical theatre, which Maillot says is one of history’s most important musical developments. The full-length ballet  shines a provocative light on Hollywood musicals by setting their evolution against a chaotic historical backdrop.

Free preview talks start one hour before curtain by Didier Lambelet, the Ballet’s tour manager, and Jessica Pinal, the company’s press officer.

Friday, February Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 13 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo start at $29 and are available online at SCFTA.org, at the Box Office at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa or by calling 714.556.2787.
