It’s Time for Takeout

April 28, 2020

In an attempt to assist the culinary community, which is struggling after state and city closures of dining rooms to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Orange County Restaurant Association has created TimeForTakeOut.com, a free online resource to promote restaurants in Orange County, Los Angeles, and Long Beach.

As the producer of the region's most celebrated culinary event for more than a decade, the Orange County Restaurant Association has been successfully connecting diners to restaurants, something which is needed more than ever right now.

On TimeForTakeOut.com, guests can search for restaurants by region or specific city to encourage diners to support local eateries, many of which are independently owned and operated. Additionally, there is an online resource center for restaurants to find information to pass to their employees and keep management informed of new regulations.

"There is no denying that restaurants are more than just businesses in our communities, they are neighborhood hubs, run by some of the most generous, giving people you’ve met – and they have been so severely impacted by the current state mandates, so now is the time to give back to them,” explained Pamela Waitt, president of the OC Restaurant Association. “We have always encouraged diners to support the many talented chefs and restaurants in our community by dining out… now, we’re switching gears to sway them to order takeout or delivery. In doing so, we decided to create a completely new resource to help diners adopt a completely new way of thinking.”

Restaurants who would like to be listed may fill out the online participation form at timefortakeout.com/contact or email info@ocrestaurantassociation.org.
