Glow for the Holidays

December 10, 2012

With the stress and hectic days of the holidays you may want to get pampered. Glow Skin Care in Eastside Costa Mesa is one of our favorite places to go for relaxing facials. Owner and esthetician Ginger Leibfreid is offering December specials for party perfect skin. The Epicurabrasion Facial treatment $125 (regular price $155) is a 90 min. treatment akin to a non-surgical face lift. It’s perfect for party ready skin.

It’s a combination of microdermabrasion and Epicuren's famous hot peel. This treatment is designed to improve clarity, elasticity, tone and tighten, shrink pores and reduce the look of fine lines. It will leave your skin glowing skin. Another one of our favorites, that’s on special is the Express Pumpkin Spice Peel for $40 (regular price is $65) for 30 minutes. This peel is perfect for those on the go during this busy time of year. This treatment is designed to promote smoother, younger looking skin by increasing the rate of cellular turn over and renewal. And, save the date on Tuesday, Dec. 11 for Glow Skin Care’s festive holiday open house from 4 to 7 p.m.

Gift certificates will be available for a special price. The one-hour relaxing facial will cost just $65 (regular price is $85). Bring a toy donation and receive 10% off any Eminence Organics or Epicuren Products and take 10% off any purchase at its neighboring shop, 7 Blue Chairs. It will be featuring artists with handmade wares.

The Backyard, a fantastic neighborhood nursery will be hosting unique vendors and they have a forest of Christmas trees.

Music to Your Ears

Orange County based Music for a Cure will be closing doors as of Dec. 31, 2012, although it’s not the end for important music therapy programs in hospitals that has reached more than 30,000 children in SoCal.

Music for a Cure’s mission to share music with critically ill children will continue as it merges with Musicians on Call, a nationally recognized non-profit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities across the country. “ Closing Music for a Cure’s doors is just a technicality and our mission will continue through Musicians on Call’s work. We are extremely grateful for all of our donor’s support over the past 10 years and hope their contributions continue to support this cause,” comments Murphy Karges, Founder of Music for a Cure.

Members of Sugar Ray founded the organization in 2002, inspired by the life of a young fan, Ryan Michael Bates who lost his battle against cancer at age 16. Music For a Cure produced fundraisers and provided grants to support music therapy programs and music therapists at several Southern California children’s hospitals.
