England’s Own Shakeaway

May 11, 2015

Milkshake enthusiasts will be over the moon on this one: U.K. based Shakeaway, the self-described “World's Largest Milkshake Bar Company” just opened a location at The Strand in Huntington Beach. The original Shakeaway opened in Bournemouth, England, a small coastal town in 1999.

Shakeaway’s endless possibilities features more than 180 ingredients so that you can customize your order to create delicious milkshakes and smoothies with options such as extra crunchy ice and fat-free frozen yogurts.

You’ll be in awe of the selections that are categorized as chocolatey, cakey, cookies, luxury, sweety, fruity, everything elsey, fit and healthy, and even a “Taste of London” (Cadbury chocolate, Jaffa Cake, Kinder Bueno) and a “Taste of Mexico” (Conejito de chocolate, Mamu and Mazapan) for more options.

You can also order some crispy and low fat fries for a classic milkshake and fries experience. You can view the entire menu here.

With each Shakeaway that opens--50 shops worldwide in all--each location must offer a local menu adapted to its environs.

Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Shakeaway is at 120 5th Street in Huntington Beach.

The Strand’s other retailers include Rip Curl, Skechers, ANGL, Crocs, Forever 21, Johnny Rockets, Ritter's Steam Kettle Cooking, Active Ride Shop and Bruxie Gourmet Waffle Sandwiches.  The Strand is located adjacent to the world-famous Huntington Beach Pier.
