Dining Bistro le Crillon Fall Wild Game Menu

September 28, 2010

For the first time, the acclaimed restaurant Bistro le Crillon is offering its in-season non-farmed wild game menu nightly throughout the fall. Up until now, you had to wait once a year for a Hunter’s Dinner & Cigars evening, a feast on American wild game and a selection of fine cigars. The extravagant five-course menu begins with an assorted hunter’s plate of wild boar proscuitto from San Geminiano, Italy; chef/owner Chantal Betron’s homemade terrine of wild duck with pistachio; breast of venison; and venison and wild boar salami.

Guests will enjoy a second course of Chantal’s casserole of wild boar pappardelle, followed by a third course of rack of elk with chestnuts puree, green apple puree and mushroom sauce Grand Veneur. The fourth course is a selection of fine cheese from France, and ending with a final sweet course of blueberry tart.

The dinner costs $150 per person prix fixe or is available a la carte, and excludes wine, cognacs, cigars, tax and gratuity.  Suggested wine and fine cigar pairings are available with each course. Cigar selections include Winston Churchill Blenheim by Davidoff, and the Jose Padron 1926 No. 1 Double Corona, among others.

Open for dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday; closed on Sunday. Eastbluff Village Center , at 2523 Eastbluff Drive at Vista del Oro, in Newport Beach .  949.640.8181, or visit www.bistrolecrillon.com.
