With so many local Orange County options this Mother’s Day, families can celebrate with mom close to home while enjoying gourmet dining, brunches and seaside views at some of SoCal’s most renowned locations. In Laguna Beach at Montage Laguna Beach, families can celebrate with a delicious meal, champagne toast, live music and more in the resort, at Studio or The Loft. Selanne Steak Tavern and Three Seventy Common are offering up brunches with mom’s favorites in mind.

Further along, the coast are brunch in the ballroom at Fashion Island Hotel and dining inside and out at Oak Grill. And just up the road, Hotel Irvine is honoring this special lady at an outdoor affair in The Backyard.

Montage Masterpiece Celebration

Mothers, their families, and lucky friends will find everything they are craving at this Mother’s Day Montage Masterpiece Celebration, as well as live musical entertainment, complimentary photographs, and a Champagne toast. There’s an Egg Bar offering eggs accompanied by choices such as wild mushrooms, shrimp, goat cheese and a trio of peppers. There is house-cured smoked salmon and bagels with toppings, a Fruit Station, soup, salads such as a bouquet of garden vegetables with peach vinaigrette. On the lighter side, a Sushi Station and iced seafood will be offered. The Chef’s Carving Station features certified Angus beef striploin. And pan-seared Mahi Mahi, bell-pepper stuffed chicken, and a spring vegetable medley all tempt hearty appetites. The Children’s Station will feature chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese, mini corn dogs and more. Chef Lee Smith’s elaborate Dessert Display is always awe-inspiring.

Studio’s Gourmet Four-Course Mother’s Day Brunch

Perched over the Pacific and dining in elegantly refined Studio, Mother’s Day will be extra special for those savoring Chef Craig Strong’s award-winning gourmet cooking. He has created a four-course brunch menu starting with First Course choices: Shaved Melon Salad with lemongrass panna cotta; Onion, Gruyère and Caraway Tart with truffle dressing; or Baby Kale Caesar Salad with fried calamari. The Second Course is either Warm White Asparagus with chive hollandaise, King Crab Fried Rice or Mushroom Ricotta Tortellini. The Third Course options are Salmon Scaloppini with Brussels sprout leaves, turnips, shiitake and kumquat, Braised Mary’s Chicken accompanied by mixed greens and Peruvian purple potato or Duck Confit Hash with Poached Egg and shishito peppers. For Dessert, the menu has Pineapple Upside Down Cake with cherry compote, Raspberry Pavlova with vanilla ice cream or Molten Chocolate Cake with Guanaja whipped ganache and mint ice cream.

Mother’s Day Four-Course Brunch at The Loft

At The Loft, Mother’s Day celebrants will enjoy a tempting four-course menu overlooking the Pacific and relaxing with those they love to be with. For the table, French toast bites with a choice of toppings, avocado toast, and an assorted mini pastry basket will start off the meal. Next, there’s a choice of appetizers: baked brie and raspberry, curly kale salad or seafood cocktail. Mains feature these selections: The Loft omelet with home fries; potato lobster crepes with broccolini and sweet mustard béarnaise; duck confit hash with baby greens and poached eggs; or steak and eggs with potato risotto. The dessert options are chocolate custard with raspberries, roses, and lychee or white chocolate and whiskey, which is a Viennese sponge cake with milk foam and coffee caramel.

Mother’s Day Celebration at Fashion Island Hotel in the Ballroom

Mothers and their families and friends will love what’s planned for the garden-themed Mother’s Day Brunch Party in the Ballroom. There will be a pianist, a bouquet-making station, kids’ activity station and a photographer to catch shots of Mom and her fan club. Breakfast Favorites include an Eggs Benedict station, French Toast and Chilaquiles. Cold Station selections include Fresh Fruits & Berries, Shrimp & Crab Claws, Heirloom Tomato Salad and California Artisan Cheese. There will be an Asian Station with Peking Duck and Poke Bowls, and a Land & Sea Station is offering Salmon, Ribeye and Herb-Roasted Chicken. Mother’s Day at Oak Grill

The honoree-of-the-day and her entourage, no matter how big or small will want to spend hours relaxing at Oak Grill’s outdoor deck on Mother’s Day. The pampering and relaxation might start where they’re pouring Bottomless Mimosas or at the Farm-to-Table Margarita Bar. To start on the light side, there will be Yogurt Parfaits and Seasonal Fruits. Everyone’s favorite California Rolls will be at the raw shellfish bar, and salads include Mediterranean Pasta Salad, Classic Caesar and Spring Salad with strawberries, candied pecans and champagne vinaigrette. And there are Artisan Cheeses, Charcuterie and Assorted Dim Sum. Carved to order entrees: Slow-Roasted Filet of Beef, Citrus Sage Pork Loin, Roasted Sea Bass and others. Three-Course Mother’s Day Brunch at Three Seventy Common Food+Drink

Chef Ryan Adams is presenting a Three-Course Brunch with plenty of appealing choices for Moms and their important co-celebrators on Mother’s Day. Everyone should be very pleased with these spring-inspired selections. First Course options are Corn Chowder with bacon and crab, Shrimp & Grits, Avocado Toast with crab and pancetta, Baby Butter Lettuce Salad or Heirloom Tomato Salad. Then holiday brunchers have a 2nd Course Selection to make from among Crab Cake “Benny” with eggs and hollandaise, Asparagus Ramp Frittata with ratatouille, Biscuits + Gravy made with fried chicken, cheddar and bacon, French Toast or Spring Scramble with chicken confit, cheese and vegetables. Sides for the table include bacon, sausage and tots. Yummy Desserts offered are Toasted Honey Cake with citrus frosting, rhubarb, whipped cream and strawberries or Chocolate Walnut Brownie complemented by whipped cream and cherries. Selanne Steak Tavern Sunday Brunch

Selanne Steak Tavern’s recently introduced brunch is just in time for Mother’s Day. Chef Joshua Severson has created a not-to-be-missed menu mom and her fans will love. Inspired by classic brunch favorites, Severson has infused his own creative twists using seasonal, local and regional ingredients. Everyone at the table, whether alfresco on the veranda or upstairs patio or in the cozy tavern or wine bar, will enjoy such sweet and savory dishes as Pancake Soufflé with Vermont maple syrup, California berries, sweet vanilla bean cream cheese; Selanne’s Benedict with Nueske’s ham, poached egg, avocado, tomato marmalade, house hollandaise and croissant; and Teemu’s Brunch Burger made with Kobe beef, kurobuta pork belly, fried egg and tomato jam. Other delicious choices include: Bourbon Caramel Pecan Sticky Bun; Chicken and Waffles; Steak Bacon and Eggs; and Cured Salmon Scramble.
