Angelina’s Pizzeria Napoletana Opening Sister Restaurant, Bottega Angelina

October 18, 2021

Longtime fans of Angelina’s Pizzeria Napoletana in Irvine can look forward to Bottega Angelina, from the same owners, set to open late October/early November at Ocean Ranch Village in Laguna Niguel.

Bottega Angelina will be a new concept, part Italian market, restaurant, and bar spanning 7,000 square feet all under one roof on a hill in Laguna Niguel. The exterior has an old-world feel with lavender plants, potted citrus, cypress, and olive trees, surrounded by ocean views.

The modern designed “Mercato,” will showcase in-house charcuterie, gelato, pasta, bread, cheese, pastries, custom Norman Love chocolates, and Illy coffee counters.

An adjacent shop of highly curated goods, spirits, and wines for the pantry and home from Italian makers like Alessi, Vietri, and Carthusia further the feel of visiting a small Italian village. Cooking classes, tastings, and demonstrations will be available for the whole family soon after opening.

Custom handcrafted mosaics line the walls leading the eye to an elaborate art deco light fixture cascading over “il bar.”

The largest footprint in the space, “ristorante,” boasts an open kitchen with an original Stefano Ferrara oven from Naples as its focal point. The kitchen team is led by Chef Aaron Zimmer --Director of Culinary Operations, Chef Filippo Piccini Executive Chef, Alfonso Sanna Corporate Chef, Rebekah Eastman Executive Pastry Chef, and Massimo Cosmano Executive Pastry Chef.

The seasonally changing menu highlights authentic Italian flavors with locally sourced Southern California produce from appetizers through desserts. Private dining rooms, plus indoor and outdoor seating is available, with the latter spotlighting several Restoration Hardware outfitted patios overlooking the Pacific. Perfect for cigars and “aperitivo” hour by the fire!
