13th Annual Celebrate the UCI Diabetes Center Fundraiser & Cocktail Party
It’s hard to believe that thirteen years have already passed since the UCI Diabetes Center debuted an event to honor those at UCI who are working toward a goal to cure and end type one diabetes. I first attended this event after my 14-year-old son was diagnosed with type one diabetes. It was a scary and devastating time. I was encouraged by what the center was doing for those who are living with and suffering from the effects of type one diabetes.
If you’d like to be a part of this important community event that affects many, you can join the 13th annual UCI Diabetes Center fundraiser and cocktail party on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Newport Beach Country Club. Enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, hosted a beer and wine, silent auction, wine wall and a research update by Ping H. Wang, MD, director of the Diabetes Center.
This year’s theme, “Celebrate the Center”, represents how the center has a multidisciplinary approach to advancing research to find a cure for Type I and Type II.
With the UCI Diabetes Center being the only academic diabetes research center in Orange County, philanthropic support is vital to the Center’s ability to provide the best quality patient care to our community, and more prepared than ever to develop new therapies, advancing research for better treatment, and ultimately, a cure for type I diabetes, and to educate a new generation of innovative healthcare professionals for our community and the world at large.
Tickets cost $150. Purchase tickets by calling 714.509.2101 or diabetes@uci.edu.
Newport Beach Country Club is at One Clubhouse Drive in Newport Beach.
