LEED-ing the Green

On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon you can take a guided tour of a home still under construction that’s working toward a certification of Platinum Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED), in other words the highest degree in eco-friendly building. Swing Dance Party!

It’s a swing dance party and casino night with a purpose this Friday at 7 p.m. at the Oasis Community Center in Corona del Mar. The Celebrate the Golden Age of Swing event is a night of top swing dancers from Cheryl Burke’s Dance Studio, entertainment, poker, blackjack and more. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and dinner by Crème de la Crème. All proceeds go toward the Foundation for Neurosciences Stroke Recovery. Reserve tickets at www.fsnroc.org. Tony Award-winner Chita Rivera will reign at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts next month for four memorable shows. In "Chita Rivera: My Broadway" from Thursday, Nov. 10 to Sunday, Nov. 13, the legendary performer will be joining her longtime musical trio and performing beloved numbers from her most celebrated musicals, including hits such as “America” from "West Side Story"; “Where Am I Going?” from "Sweet Charity"; and songs from "Chicago," "Kiss of the Spider Woman," "Bye Bye Birdie" and "The Rink."
