ZOOKEEPER APPRECIATION DAY AT THE OC ZOO

July 17, 2018

Families can enjoy a day full of children’s activities in celebration of hardworking zookeepers and zoo volunteers on Saturday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the OC Zoo in Orange. You’re invited to make thank you cards, crafts and participate in games. Learn from zookeepers as they chat throughout the day about their jobs and give special treats to the zoo animals.

Zookeepers will be giving “keeper chats” and leading a special talk, “So You Want To Be A Zookeeper” at 10:30 a.m. Visitors will be able to learn more about what a day in the life of a zookeeper is like, see tools of the trade and meet select animals up close.

The first 100 children (ages 12 and under) will receive a free train ride ticket for the Irvine Park Railroad, and visitors are encouraged to dress in zookeeper attire.

Reservations for Zookeeper Appreciation Day are not required. All event activities are free with a paid zoo admission of $2 per person, ages 2 and under are free. Parking is $5 per car.

OC Zoo is at 1 Irvine Park Road in Orange.
