The World’s First Taco Donut at Puesto

August 25, 2017

Puesto is now offering the world’s first taco donut as a secret menu item. Chef Katy Smith created this decadent taco, by folding filet mignon into a bed of melted cheese on the griddle and then forming a crispy, cheesy wrap into the shape of a donut.

She then tops it with Maine lobster, avocado slices, chipotle crema and cilantro crema; served atop a bed of stone-ground, blue corn tortillas to absorb the mess. Since it’s essentially six tacos melded together with premium ingredients such as filet mignon and lobster, it’s priced at $60. It could also be the world’s most expensive taco, as well as the first taco donut.

Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Puesto is at Los Olivos Irvine at 8577 Irvine Center Drive in Irvine. 949.608.9990.
