The Gray Event with Chef Pascal
Renowned Chef Pascal Olhats is planning a very special event to help save Elephants in Thailand. Pascal and his wife Chris spent a week volunteering their time in Thailand and now the founder of the Sanctuary, Sangdeaun Lek Chailert is coming to Orange County.
The Gray Event is a special reception and dinner at Sherman Library & Gardens in Corona del Mar on Sunday, October 23rd. The reception begins at 4:30 p.m. with Thai appetizers, a silent auction, a photo station with a banner of elephants. Proceeds will benefit the Save Elephant Foundation.
Guests will be entertained with authentic music and dance in a beautiful garden setting. Then, at 6:30 p.m., the dinner guests will enjoy a delicious four-course Thai-inspired dinner with wine (including a demonstration with Pascal and Cathy Thomas) and Lek will share a short video from the Sanctuary.
Lek started rescuing elephants one at a time. Now she has 75 elephants in Chiang Mai at the Elephant Nature Park. She is opening another sanctuary in the mountainous area of Thailand. She is working with the farmers and teaching them how to treat these animals better. She is working on saving wild elephants and stopping the killing of entire elephant families. The poachers do this as a way to steal the baby elephants. It just breaks Pascal’s hearts.
“We are raising funds to help her with the sanctuaries, medicine and supplies to help care for the elephants,” said Pascal.
Reception is $100 per person, dinner is $250 per person. For tickets and more information, visit thegrayevent.com or contact Patty at 949.673.0034, or patty@pascalnpb.com.
