Taste of Orange County

Taste of Orange County, a premiere food, wine and entertainment festival featuring more than 50 restaurants and wineries will kick off Saturday at noon at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine. The two-day food and wine enthusiast event is back after a 16 year hiatus.

The culinary festival will include local restaurant samples, cooking demos from top chefs in Orange County, and even wine and tequila tastings, entertainment and music to showcase local culture and lifestyle. A partial list of participating chefs include Chef Shachi Mehra of Tamarind of London, Chef Craig Connole of K’ya Bistro/House of Big Fish, Chef Pascal Olhats of Pascal Restaurants, Chef Louis Jocson of Red Table, Chef Matt Briggs of Mastro’s Ocean Club, Chef Greg Daniels from Haven GastroPub/Taco Asylum, and Chef Michael Doctulero of Scott’s Seafood. On Saturday, Taste of Orange County is open from noon to 8 p.m. for guests 21 and over; and Sunday it’s open from noon to 8 p.m. for all ages. A portion of the proceeds raised at the event will benefit Orange County Food Bank and The Culinary Liberation Front.  General access tickets cost $25, VIP access costs $179; and an Ultra Pass costs $250.

Kick Off at The Cove

Delux Luxury The shops at The Cove in Newport Beach are celebrating summer with a kick off party Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. The gathering of eclectic boutiques on the Coast Highway in Newport Beach are opening their doors, offering specials, and the Cove’s newest addition, Delux Luxury is hosting a grand opening party with hors d’ouevres, drinks and a DJ. Delux Luxury is Orange County’s newest upscale designer consignment clothing and accessories shop. Owner Samantha Wilson-Matteson carries coveted designers including Christian Louboutin, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Gucci, Chanel, Burberry and Balenciaga to name just a few. And a portion of the proceeds from Delux Luxury’s party will go to support Working Wardrobes.
