Tempting Tacos at Pour Vida Latin Flavor

June 04, 2015

Today, Celebrity Chef Jimmy Martinez celebrates the opening of his first restaurant. Pour Vida Latin Flavor at Anaheim’s hip Center St Promenade. Pour Vida Latin Flavor is a new concept focused on tacos, he is making all of 3 types of tortillas in-house, one for land (a housemade secret recipe tortilla), sea (a housemade squid ink tortilla) and garden (a housemade spinach tortilla).

Choose from fresh pressed juices, inventive salads such as a Gold of the Incas with black quinoa, romaine lettuce, crispy tortilla strips, house made caesar dressing; a Tabasco Seaweed with cucumber, tomato, avocado, shaved brussels sprouts, tabasco seaweed; or Beets and Burrata with black beans, cilantro beets, and jalapeño mint burrata (pictured above).

The tacos feature interesting ingredients such as pineapple skirt steak, Jacuzzi chicken, heirloom cabbage, carrot potato, tempura oyster, blackened whitefish, and much more. Inventive side dishes also include nacho fries, spicy pickles escabeche and warm cilantro couscous.

Martinez is a classically trained chef, as the executive chef at Private Club 41 Ocean Club in Santa Monica and former chef of BOA Steakhouse. His mission is to make high quality food without high prices.
