Sweet and Healthy Lavender Lane Baking Co.

Food allergy sufferers and anyone following a restrictive or healthy diet will love the new Costa Mesa-based Lavender Lane Baking Co. It’s a brand-new line of handmade-from-scratch baked goods that are gluten free, grain free, organic, paleo friendly and there are even keto options.

It all started with a delicious chocolate chip cookie created by Christine Bren, a mom on a mission, driven by her wish to treat her family who suffers from autoimmune disorders, type 1 diabetes and food allergies, to healthier baked goods and sweets. 

She was on a mission to make a cookie like none before that could be enjoyed by those who can’t or choose not to eat gluten, grains, processed ingredients, or anything that’s not wholesome and pure. It took Christine two years, hundreds of pounds of ingredients and countless batches until she perfected the cookie. 

Christine brought in her friend of nearly 20 years, Sarah Butler, who shared her hunger for healthy baked goods — and also happened to have an impressive marketing background (and an MBA). So last year, Lavender Lane Baking Co. was founded. The product line has expanded from that original chocolate chip cookie into a collection of healthy, gluten-free, grain-free, sweet and savory treats that are free of soy, trans fats and GMOs as well (including sandwich bread, granola, brownies and other cookies). 

These products are good for you and will still satisfy any sweet tooth without putting your health journey at risk. In addition, the company only uses almond flour, coconut flour and cassava flours (versus rice flour,) in its products.

Lavender Lane’s mission is to support customers in continuing their health journeys by providing healthy indulgences and therefore reducing the risk of derailment from their health and wellness goals.

You can place orders online for delivery (anywhere in the U.S.) or for pick-up at Lavender Lane Baking Co’s bakery.

The bakery is located at 2950 Grace Lane in Costa Mesa and is open for pick up Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lavender Lane Baking Co. also offers a subscription service.
