SOCIAL Brunching to end Child Homelessness

January 06, 2015

One of our favorite restaurants to open in 2104, SOCIAL Costa Mesa continues the spirit of giving with their “Brunch for Lunch” program. All month long, SOCIAL Costa Mesa will donate $2.50 from each brunch entree purchased to Project Hope Alliance (PHA), a Costa Mesa-based non-profit organization committed to ending child homelessness in Orange County.  Each $2.50 will fund a lunch - delivered via Project Hope Alliance's food pantry - for one homeless child served by PHA.

For these Sunday brunches, SOCIAL’s Executive Chef Jeffrey Boullt is pulling together influences from his past experiences to offer guests Southern-style dishes like Pimento Grilled Cheese (with Bacon and Smoked Tomato Bisque, $15), Ceviche Mixto (Hamachi, Spanish Octopus, Guajillo, Avocado, and House Tortilla, $13), and his take on a Croque Madame (open face Brioche, Aged Cheddar Mornay, Fried Egg, and Smoked Ham, $13), as well as classic favorites like Cinnamon French Toast and Chicken and Waffles.

Bar Director Mike West is mixing up brunch cocktails to serve up unique ones like Mother’s Milk (Rye Whiskey, Herbisant, Hazelnut, Cream, Torched Bitters, Cinnamon), The General’s Coffee (Rum, Borghetti Espresso, Vanilla, Meringue, Nutmeg), and Lil’ Cutie (Gin, Tangerine, Breckenridge Bitters, Lemon, Basil Leaf).

Along with enjoying new delicious brunch dishes and cocktails - and giving to an important local cause - guests can enjoy live music from entertainer Michael Cartwright, a Southern California based singer and songwriter who pulls musical inspiration from Miles Davis and Michael Jackson and has a stage presence similar to The Dave Matthews Band, as well as other live performers.
