Savoy for Small Plates!

July 03, 2010

Looking for a new place to dine? The Savoy Restaurant and Lounge just opened at The Hotel Hanford, a new boutique-style hotel near South Coast Plaza. The Savoy specializes in a small plates tour of Europe created by Executive Chef Michael Carpenter, and to compliment the cuisine a private wine salon and tasting room is due to open late summer with an award-winning selection from Sodaro Estate Winery, as well as select wines from Napa Valley’s Coombsville region.

A sample of the Savoy Restaurant menu includes a trio of tempura shrimp, seared ahi tuna and baked sea scallop; spicy tuna, salmon tartar and spicy scallops served in cones; grilled baby lamb chops served with baked polenta, vegetables and mint chimichuri; a selection of four farmhouse cheeses and tasty treats; and Italian telaggio cheese and forest mushrooms pizza with truffle oil. Prices range from $4.95 to $17.95 per plate.

The Savoy Restaurant and Lounge also offers a selection of classic and contemporary cocktails including several signature cocktails such as The Costa Mojito and OC-Sunset, a citrus, ginger and champagne cocktail, as well as a selection of award-winning international wines.

It’s also a perfect pre-theater destination with complimentary parking and shuttle service to and from the Orange County Performing Arts Center.

Open daily for breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. and dinner from 4:30 to 10 p.m. The lounge is open until 11 p.m.

Savoy Restaurant and Lounge is at 3131 Bristol Street in Costa Mesa, inside The Hotel Hanford. 714.557.3000.
