Orange County’s Best New Restaurant Celebrates First Year

November 13, 2017

Mix Mix Kitchen Bar in Santa Ana was recently named “Best New Restaurant” at the 2017 Golden Foodie Awards and for a good reason. Chef/owner Ross Pangilinan’s impressive background ranges from working in France at the two-Michelin-starred Les Trois Marche, and Michelin-starred Regis restaurant to sous chef position at Pinot Provence and Patina at the Walt Disney Concert Hall where he helped earn the restaurant its Michelin star in 2007. He opened Sinatra within Encore at the Wynn in Las Vegas and was Executive Chef at Leatherby's Café Rouge for seven years.

Now, Mix Mix Kitchen Bar is celebrating its first-year anniversary where chef Pangilinan shines by offering global dishes with influences from traditional French, Italian and modern Filipino cuisines. Through November, chef Pangilinan is also offering a celebratory anniversary menu. The 4-course menu, regularly priced at $45, will be offered at $40 and will allow guests to choose one dish from each section of the menu which now includes new seasonal offerings like hand-rolled Shrimp Lumpia with grilled pineapple and tomato salad, Crispy Duck Leg with butternut squash ravioli and pomegranate arils, and the Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Tart with spiced chantilly.

Mix Mix Kitchen Bar’s anniversary party will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Priced at $85, guests are invited to join chef Pangilinan and the Mix Mix Kitchen Bar team with a welcome cocktail, whole roasted lechon, and signature hors d’oeuvres before they’re seated for a celebratory 5-course dinner and champagne toast.
