Oak Grill Debuts Slow Smoked Sundaze Family-Friendly BBQ Suppers

April 27, 2016

The BBQ season is here and our favorite new tradition is the Oak Grill’s Slow Smoked Sundaze every Sunday evening from 5 to 9:30 p.m. – debuting on Sunday, May 1. Chef Marc Johnson and his team are grilling up a great four-course menu to be enjoyed by family and friends in Oak Grill’s dining rooms or on the outdoor deck.

Award-winning Chef Johnson is also an expert at cooking with smokers, and he starts with the best ingredients available-- sourced locally from purveyors the chef trusts and works with every day, and Oak Grill has its own butcher and an onsite butcher shop in the kitchen. The meats and fish are dry rubbed first with a blend of brown sugar, cayenne, cumin, ginger, paprika, black pepper and other secret spices.

The Slow Smoked Sundaze menu  starts with Deviled Eggs, a Pickled Plate and Farmer’s Salad composed of field greens, beets, walnuts, corn, cranberries, goat cheese and honey lemon vinaigrette. Next everyone is served a choice of a Back Patio Entree from Baby Back Ribs, Whole Roasted Catch of the Day, Fried Chicken (ask about his Nashville Hot Chicken), Beef Brisket and Cedar Planked Salmon.

The Entrée comes with two sidekicks per plate and Cornbread with honey butter. Sidekick options include Corn on the Cob, Mashed Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Sautéed Greens or Cole Slaw.

For the Finish, it’s your choice of Pecan Pie or Pizooki Sundaze to end to this hearty Sunday supper.

Complimentary Backyard Lemonade made with basil and fresh strawberries is served to all, and Pickled Lemonade with Tito’s Vodka is a $10 option.

$34 adult price includes choice of Back Patio Entrees and shared salad, breads, two sides, desserts and complimentary Backyard Lemonade; $12 for children five to 12. Price excludes tax and gratuity. Reservations encouraged. Call 949.760.4920 or visit opentable.com.
