#NationalCoffeeDay at Common Room Roasters

September 29, 2016

We recently discovered what is now one of our favorite new coffee shops in OC—Common Room Roasters---it’s off the beaten path on Production Place in Newport Beach, but well worth seeking out. Owner Ed Moffatt opened Common Room Roasters last year and he’s bringing a Melbourne coffee shop experience to industrial Newport.

With its proximity to local design and surf brands like RVCA, Purps, Volcolm, Hurley, Toes on the Nose, Slow Tide and What Youth, it’s a great meeting place for locals to get caffeinated.

Common Room Roasters specializes in the finest micro-lot coffees and roasts them in house with their state-of-the-art equipment. It’s roasting program just launched six weeks ago. The café/tasting room is one of the most inviting and chill coffee shops we’ve found. A DJ plays on the weekends, there’s a great communal table and single tables as well.

They specialize in sp9 filter brewers, flat whites, lattes, V60 pourovers, aeropress, espresso, affogato, fresh pastries and vegan donuts.

Open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

882 Production Place in Newport Beach. 949.220.7868.
