Nabucco in Concert starring Placido Domingo at Musco Center

November 09, 2017

For the first time, music fans can experience the LA Opera Orchestra outside of the orchestra pit, performing on the Musco stage in Orange! On Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m., LA Opera presents Nabucco in Concert starring Plácido Domingo and featuring the LA Opera Chorus and Orchestra at Musco Center for the Arts at Chapman University.

Following the full staging of Giuseppe Verdi’s masterpiece, Nabucco in downtown Los Angeles, Plácido Domingo returns to the Musco Center for the Arts to star as the title king in a concert version that includes the full cast from the stage production with principal singers, a 60-member chorus, and a 72-member orchestra. Musco Center for the Arts is hailed as “an ideal opera house, potentially the best in the West and maybe even something more” by the Los Angeles Times.

Written by Giuseppe Verdi, Nabucco is considered the catalyst that set Verdi’s career in motion. Nabucco in Concert is conducted by James Conlon, and its lead sponsors include Marybelle and Sebastian P. Musco, the Honorable Milan Panić, and Doy Henley.

Tickets range from $350 to $1,000 and may be purchased online at www.muscocenter.org or by calling the box office at 844.OC.MUSCO (844-626-8726). All tickets include no-cost parking.

Musco Center for the Arts is located on the campus of Chapman University at 415 North Glassell in Orange.
