MOVEABLE FEAST AND ‘FARM RAISER’
In Long Beach, restaurants and their chefs who need freshly-plucked herbs, fruits and vegetables rely on Farm Lot 59, the city’s non-profit urban farm. Taste WBK, owned by Erin O’Hagan and Laurie Semon, proprietors of Olives Gourmet Grocer, will host a Moveable Feast and “Farm Raiser” on Sunday, October 23 from 2-7 p.m.
The Moveable Feast will begin at The Wine Country in Signal Hill where guests will meet, put their cars in park for a few hours, and indulge in bubbles and appetizers before boarding a shuttle for nearby Farm Lot 59. Farmer Sasha will greet guests and take them foraging through the fields before the group settles down to a field-to-fork experience with cider, soup and salad. From there, the shuttle will transport guests to Taste WBK where Chef Brad Neumann will present a special menu using ingredients grown at Farm Lot 59. Sommelier Alicia Ajolo will pair an array of wines selected to complement the meal. At 7 p.m. guests will be shuttled back to their cars at The Wine Country.
Tickets are $125 per person and include all food, beverage and transportation to participating culinary destinations. All proceeds will benefit Farm Lot 59. Tickets can be purchased online here.
