1. If you had to begin a different career, what would you do?

I think I would do something that didn’t involve blackberries, phones, computers, email, contracts…etc. Perhaps my second calling will be as an inn caretaker in a remote exotic locale? Either that or I always wanted to work for the CIA as an international spy. I suppose there is always time to get involved in both.

2. What’s your most prized possession?

I don’t really value inanimate objects that much but I would have to say my grandfather’s one-of-a-kind vintage Longines that he left for me when he passed. Growing up as a kid it was always something I admired and always was that one iconic item which I associated with him.

3. Favorite drink?

Alcoholic: Hendrick’s gin and tonic. Non-alcoholic: chocolate milk.

4. What are you cutting out because of the economy?

Oh this damn economy. I am going out a lot less but I am a hermit anyways so it really is an excuse to just stay home and do nothing.

5. Fantasy purchase?

That gated mega-compound in Malibu has always been something I secretly wanted … sigh.

6. What can’t you live without?

Family. Without family all the successes are meaningless and failures are lonely.

7. What’s next on your “to do” list?

Surf more.

8. Biggest regret?

I don’t believe in regret.

9. Cause that you’re most interested/involve in?

I believe in spreading the wealth of my time and money. Having run a non-profit for 6 years, my co-founders and I made it an initiative to raise money for an array of causes. It feels good to help out on many fronts. Anything with children, abused/abandoned animals, natural disasters or education I try to support in some way or another.

10. Your dream day in OC?

I always long for those long summer days when I was a grom that started out with donuts before a dawn patrol surf at 46th in Newport followed by the lunch special at Gina’s Pizza (I think it is called Mario’s now) then back to the beach for another surf. Ending the day with a good meal and few beers with the crew. Simple. Clean. Fun.

11. Favorite place for breakfast?

Well I have been up in L.A. for the last decade but in O.C. I would have to say the Sugar Shack, when you can manage to get a table, is pretty legendary

12. What was the best day of your life?

The days my boys were born.

13. Last concert that you went to?

Del the Funky Homosapien played a party my client threw during the SIA tradeshow in Denver a couple weeks ago.

14. Favorite vacation spot?

Anywhere new and different. I have been to about 40 countries and can’t really say one is better than the next. I am a bit of a wanderlust and am happy any time I get to experience a new place.

15. What do you love and hate about Orange County?

Orange County is a great place to grow up but moving to L.A. made me realize how homogenous OC living can be. Not to hate on the hometown but OC lacks in culture and action. However, I love the beaches…which I miss dearly.

16. Favorite books?

Catcher in the Rye, Siddhartha, The Godfather and anything by Hemingway, Vonnegut Jr. or David Sedaris.

17. Favorite restaurants in Orange County?

It has been so long since I went out in OC. It is too grimy of me to say Taco Loco in Laguna? I also love Roma D’Italia for real Italian food in Tustin. That was a family weekly staple for most my life.

18. Biggest accomplishment?

Still working on that.

19. What’s your biggest fear?

Failure.

20. Secret most people don’t know about you.

I’d like to keep that a secret.
