'When East Meets West'Huntington Beach Symphony Orchestra's Spring Concert, "When East Meets West," will be performed on Sunday, March 30 at 3:30 p.m. on the Mainstage Theater at Goldenwest College in Huntington Beach.
The concert will be a celebration of composers who were intrigued with music cultures of distant countries. The program will include the overture to the opera The Italian in Algiers by G. Rossini, Capriccio Espagnol by Rimsky-Korsakov, "Bacchanale" from Samson and Delilah by C. Saint-Saens. And soprano, Susan Montgomery-Kinsey, will sing the famous "Vilja" from The Merry Widow by F. Lehar and join soprano Grace Lee in "Flower Duet" from Lakme by L. Delibes.
The program will conclude with the 4th Movement of A. Dvorak's Symphony N9 ("From The New World").
