Learning to Grow YOur Own at Roger’s Gardens

Not only is Roger’s Gardens committed to educating garden enthusiasts with informative seminars, events, and workshops, they’re also helping students to understand the importance of fresh, healthy homegrown vegetables, herbs and fruits.

Roger’s Gardens provides unlimited plants and supplies to Newport Beach Public Elementary Schools to assist them in engaging and educating their students in edible gardening.

Supplies are made available at no cost for school garden use. These supplies include all plants, such as vegetable and herbs, seeds, fruit and berry plants, etc. Supplies include organic soils and soil amendments and organic fertilizers.

On Saturday, June 1 at 9 a.m. at Roger’s Gardens you can attend a free Grow Your Own seminar with expert Horticulturist, David Rizzo. He’ll share gardening tips about everything edible: vegetables, herbs, fruits, berries and more. Emphasis this month will cover topics such as care of tomatoes and other warm season vegetables, strawberry care and summer pruning and thinning of deciduous fruit trees. Bring your questions, and your own tips and tricks, as audience participation is encouraged.

Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
