Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen Launches Mocktail Happy Hour

August 03, 2022

Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen, a Michelin Bib Gourmand award-winning 100% Halal eatery in Fullerton, has launched its late summer happy hour. Now through the end of September, the restaurant’s popular alcohol-free craft mocktails will be offered at buy one get one 50% Mondays through Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

The late summer happy hour encourages guests to escape this season’s heat waves and enjoy refreshingly cold, spiritless drinks paired perfectly with the restaurant’s melded cuisine that incorporates flavors and cooking techniques of India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. The “sober curious” movement of cutting down, or out, alcohol use is continuing strong this summer, and, following Halal tradition, Khan Saab’s 100% alcohol-free drink menu is on trend. 58% of global consumers are drinking more non-alcoholic and low-ABV cocktails than a year ago, citing personal, physical and mental health reasons and shattering negative stigmas surrounding sobriety.

Mixologists Craig Nemeth and Ahmad Hosseini craft trendy and socially appealing mocktails like the Tower of Peshawar, which blends Seedlip Garden 108, cucumber, basil, and elderflower tonic, alongside more traditional beverages like lassi, a dahi-based drink made with a blend of yoghurt, water, spices, and occasionally fruit such as mangos. Standouts from the craft mocktail selection include the sweet and refreshing Mango Mojito, crafted with mango nectar, mint, jaggery, and lime, and the sophisticated Smoked Negroni, made with Seedlip Spice 94, rose syrup and Palo Santo bitters and served under a smoke-filled dome.

The restaurant also serves twists on classics including the alcohol-free Dirty Sprite and Peshawari Mule

Khan Saab is open seven days a week from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Guests can enjoy this dining experience for lunch or dinner at 229 East Commonwealth Avenue in downtown Fullerton.
