KFI AM 640 PastaThon For Caterina’s Club
This will be the first year that KFI’s PastaThon – Caterina’s Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year on Saturday, Dec. 9 will be held away from Serato's Anaheim White House, which perished in a fire earlier this year. In what has turned out to be an annual tradition for LA’s top radio station, KFI-AM 640 will broadcast its line-up of shows from Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove.
This year’s live broadcast will begin at 5 a.m. with “The Bill Handel Show” and conclude at 10 p.m. immediately after "The Tim Conway, Jr. Show." The public is invited to stop by, meet their favorite personalities and make donations of cash, dry pasta, and tomato sauce. Also, a live auction will be held at 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. with some events hosted by KFI’s beloved hosts including breakfast in the studio with Bill Handel and attending a Dodger’s game with Gary & Shannon. This year’s goal is to generate $350,000 and 90,000 pounds of pasta and sauce.
To make donating easier, Smart & Final's participating Orange County locations are offering special “Grab & Go” bags filled with 11 pounds of pasta and sauce for $10 each and the chain will deliver the bags to the Caterina’s Club.
Caterina’s Club serves pasta each night in 28 locations in Orange and LA counties with more 1.9 million meals served to date.. The nonprofit also has helped scores of families escape motel living by securing apartments for them. Also, Serato in concert with the city of Anaheim, established the Hospitality Academy to help at-risk youth explore careers in restaurants and hotels.
