Asian Cheese Tart Craze Now in OC
One of Asia’s hottest dessert trends just landed in the U.S.: Bear Cheese Tart brings its melt-in-your-mouth treats to Union Market at The District in Tustin.
The Hokkaido-style baked cheese tarts – already a sensation in Japan, Malaysia and Australia – are palm-sized pastries made with cream cheese, set in a crisp shortcrust shell for a creamy treat that’s not too sweet, with a hint of savory. The tarts, priced at $3 each, are baked fresh on-site daily and come a variety of seasonal flavors, including original, chocolate, mango, strawberry and blueberry. The tarts can be served chilled, at room temperature or warm.
Beverages available include Rose Black Tea and Jasmine Green Tea. Bear Cheese Tart’s opening marks the latest notable dessert concept to arrive to Union Market, following the recent openings of the popular Mr. Holmes Bakehouse and Milk Box. Bear Cheese Tart is located across from Market 2 Plate, near Churned Creamery.
