Happy 25th Wahoo’s!

January 14, 2013

It’s hard to believe, it’s already been 25 years since Wahoo’s Fish Taco opened its flagship restaurant on Placentia Avenue, on the Westside of Costa Mesa. Today it boasts more than 60 locations in California, Colorado, Texas, Hawaii, New York, Nebraska and Nevada. More recently, 10 Wahoo’s have added full bars including Fashion Island and Huntington Beach.

Wahoo’s is celebrating this milestone by offering special promotions every month through the end of the year.  On the 25th of each month, Wahoo’s will roll out special discounts, new menu items and a visitor reward program for customers that visit a Wahoo’s every month with a chance to win a grand prize at the end of the year.

Stop in on Friday, Jan. 25 for a 25-cent signature grilled fish taco (one per customer). Wahoo’s was founded by brothers Wing Lam, Ed Lee and Mingo Lee, and in 1990 co-founder Steve Karafaridis joined the team to expand the Wahoo’s empire known for its eclectic Mexican-Brazilian-Asian menu, charity involvement and supporting athletes. We love Wahoo’s for its casual surf/skate/snow sticker laden atmosphere, tacos, burritos, and its great Maui bowl, with teriyaki carne asada, black beans and rice.
