The Strength Co. Will Pump You Up!
Meet Grant Broggi, owner of The Strength Co. in Costa Mesa and Villa Park. Last month, he ran a popular barbell training gym. But no one could predict that a global coronavirus crisis would transpire and shut down businesses in no time. Broggi didn’t let that deter him.
Today, The Strength Co. as we know it is much different. Now, they manufacture equipment, they make homes gyms (racks, benches and mats), they offer online coaching, manufacture masks, and they’re donating masks to those in need and selling them online to keep payroll rolling.
With the eight employees that rely on The Strength Co. for work and a paycheck, Broggi pivoted quickly. He didn’t want to pay his employees less or stop paying rent to his landlord. So they dismantled the gym and transferred everything to people's homes. Now, they’re setting up home gyms and when they ran out of squat racks, they built them.
He’s being creative and keeping people employed and even other workers. A screen printer and his employees are making income, as well as seamstresses they’ve hired to make masks. They’re giving work to fabric suppliers, companies that supply bolts, nuts and steel. His goal is to give work, inspire others, and let people know that we’ll be okay and we’ll get through this together.
