Give ‘Em the Boot!
Get your new year's resolutions ready and head over to the new Barry's Bootcamp in OC.
After reading the stories about the "best workout in the world" we decided to check out the new place.
We attended a class by super trainer Roni Moore and got our butt kicked! It might have been a blessing in disguise that we showed up for the full body workout day - everything was sore! Each day is dedicated to a different muscle group so you can focus on exactly what you want to tone whether its arms and abs, legs and butt, chest and abs, shoulder and back or your entire body.
Roni, who is sponsored by Nike and is a member of the U.S. Women’s Track and Field Team for the 2012 Olympics, kept pushing everyone to their maximum level of performance as she danced around to the pumping music. The full body class alternated between six minutes on the treadmill with various inclines and speed to six minutes on the floor working different muscle groups. Each set gets progressively more difficult, but if it gets too difficult, you are welcome to take it at your own pace or modify it to suit your comfort and ability levels. According to Barry's Bootcamp, "the idea is to continually 'shock' the body as research demonstrates that it is the most efficient and effective way to improve your cardiovascular system, lose weight and build muscle."
The intensity of the workout is just like the experience of having a personal trainer at the fraction of the cost and with better music. Classes are available before and after work from 5:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.
To try out a class, visit Barry's Bootcamp online or give them a call at 888.750.4442.
Barry's Bootcamp is located at 6260 Scholarship in Irvine, near the corner of Campus and Jamboree.
