From LA to OC: Joon Shabu Shabu
Joon Shabu Shabu, a popular Japanese-style hotpot restaurant from L.A., just opened its first Orange County location at the District in Tustin. Joon Shabu Shabu makes all of its own dipping sauces in-house, including its popular Tokyo Hot Sauce. You can choose from up to five specialty dipping sauces, including a whipped garlic and citrus sauce, and a sweet and savory umami sauce – going beyond the typical repertoire of ponzu and sesame sauces available elsewhere.
Another signature offering: Joon’s “Miracle” shabu, where thinly sliced Angus beef is laid across a bed of vegetables and is steam- cooked for a light, healthy meal. All shabu shabu comes with black rice, udon or ramen noodles, assorted vegetables and two sauces.
You can also choose from Angus beef (freshly sliced Angus ribeye); or Joon beef, the second-best beef, less fatty and more amount served; Sukiyaki, thinly slices Angus beef with an egg to be cracked for the traditional use of dipping, or it can go right into the pot. The Chicken is lean and served with tofu. For seafood lovers, Joon Seafood (Black tiger shrimp, salmon, scallop and fishcakes); and Lobster Seafood with lobster, Black Tiger Shrimp, salmon and scallop. For Vegetarians, there is yam, shitake mushroom, bottom mushroom, eggplant, radish, cabbage, tofu, lotus root, and broccoli.
Joon Shabu Shabu is next to AMC Tustin 14.
