In celebration of National Food Day today, Avanti Cafe in Costa Mesa is offering a special menu from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. using all California grown ingredients and produce from two spectacular organic farms, South Coast Farms in San Juan Capistrano and Unity Farms in Riverside. The meal is only $9.

The menu starts with baked organic brown rice and herb croquette, roasted and steamed organic vegetables with fresh herb and garlic pesto. You can add delicious organic house made feta, too.

National Food Day at Chapman University We say sustainable food is where it’s at. And if you agree, attend Chapman University's National Food Day event today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. You’re going to be treated to an incredible meal featuring produce from the Orange Home Grown Farmers Market while learning from experts as they explore sustainability in the restaurant industry.

Guest speakers include Jesse Baker, who will talk about the OC Food Access Coalition, a new program that encourages and promotes sustainable practices in local restaurants, and executive chefs Greg Daniels of Haven Gastropub and Haley Nguyen of Xanh Bistro, who will share their commitment to sustainability and the value that it adds to their business.

The event will be taking place at the Chapman University Student Union and Ballroom. Reserve your seat here.

The cost is $21 and parking is $2 (Lots P3 or P4 off Walnut). Chapman University is at One University Drive in Orange.
