Drumming to Beat Diabetes
Renowned drummer, Johnny Byrne who has toured and recorded with KC and the Sunshine Band, among other famous artists, brings his annual Drummer’s Showcase to the Webb Theater at OCSHA in Santa Ana on Friday at 6:30 p.m. to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. This cause is near and dear to my heart, since one of my four sons was diagnosed with T1D seven years ago. I also serve on the board of JDRF.
Drumming to Beat Diabetes combines the skills of professional drummers and their students to provide a terrific evening of entertainment. The performance will feature 23 drummers showcasing their incredible talents along with guest performances by drummer Russ Miller who has performed with Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Nelly Furtado, Hilary Duff; and sound engineer Dave Aron, who has worked with 2 Pac, Snoop Dogg, Sublime, Prince, and Nate Dogg, All profits will be donated to JDRF.
Dogzilla and Longboards Ice Cream food trucks will be serving food outside the venue all night donating 10% of their proceeds to JDRF. There will be 2 opportunity drawings, one for a beautiful MAPEX drum set and an electronic drum set.
You can purchase tickets online. General admission tickets cost $30 and orchestra tickets cost $50.
The Webb Theater is on the OCSHA campus at 801 North Main Street in Santa Ana.
