Dog Play Afternoon

August 26, 2013

It’s National Dog Day and in celebration you can check out the brand new Zoom Room in Huntington Beach. The concept is an alternative to a dog park (it’s indoors), plus a place to train your dog, take canine gym classes, or celebrate a dog party. Owners can partake in everything from agility, obedience and therapy dog training, to puppy preschool, scent work, tricks, Pup-lates, urban herding, and shy dog training for rescue dogs.

The Zoom Room also serves an event center for dog birthday parties, meet-up groups and fundraisers. You can also shop from a curated selection of solution-oriented pet products, including training gear, all-natural treats, eco-friendly toys and puzzles, and hand-crafted leather leashes.

The new facility, in the recently renovated Beach Garfield Shopping Center, is the first Zoom Room in Orange County and is owned by husband-and-wife team Blane and Mel Dydasco. The original Zoom Room opened in Culver City six years ago and was founded by Los Angeles dog training expert Jaime Van Wye.

Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Zoom Room Huntington Beach is at 19069 Beach Blvd. 714.794.9663.
