Georgia’s Marks The Wiz at Segerstrom Center With a Special Family Meal

Georgia’s Restaurant is celebrating the arrival of the Tony Award–winning Best Musical The Wiz at Segerstrom Center for the Arts with a special Ease on Down Family Meal, available throughout January.

For the month, all Georgia’s locations will offer an eight-piece bucket of the restaurant’s signature fried chicken, a half dozen pieces of cornbread, a choice of two large sides such as collard greens, garlic rice, or mac and cheese, and two slices of red velvet cake for $39. The meal is available for in-house dining and takeout.

The Wiz is widely recognized as a landmark, all-Black musical that reimagined The Wizard of Oz as a celebration of Black culture, identity, and the African American experience, paving the way for future generations of diverse Broadway productions.

The production runs through Jan. 25 at Segerstrom Hall, with tickets starting at $44. The national tour features direction by Schele Williams, choreography by JaQuel Knight, and additional material by Amber Ruffin, bringing fresh energy to the iconic score rooted in soul, gospel, rock, and 1970s funk.

Ignite Dance: 35 Years of Movement in Orange County

Ignite Dance marks 35 years of extraordinary performances at Irvine Barclay Theatre on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 8 p.m. The program features seven distinguished ensembles with deep ties to Orange County and a legacy of performances on the Barclay stage.

Performances feature classical ballet, Chinese dance, Bharatanatyam, modern, and contemporary works. Audiences will experience the power, precision, and creativity that have defined the region’s dance community for more than three decades.

Participating companies include Arpana Dance Company, Backhausdance, Chinese Dance Company of Southern California, Festival Ballet Theatre, National Choreographers Initiative, Smuin Contemporary Ballet, UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts Dance, and The Wooden Floor.

More than a performance, Ignite Dance is a tribute to the lasting impact of dance and its ability to inspire, connect, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Following the performance, guests are invited to continue the celebration in the Irvine Barclay Theatre lobby with a DJ, light refreshments, and time to honor the vibrant dance community that has shaped the venue’s legacy.
